WiDS Houston is an independent event organized to coincide with the annual Global Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference held at Stanford University and an estimated 150+ locations worldwide. WiDS includes nearly 200 regional conferences in over 55 countries, an annual datathon and a podcast series. 

WiDS Houston features an afternoon of engaging speakers from industry and academia, a panel discussion, a student poster competition and a cocktail hour for networking. Topics will reflect activities from the major industries driving Houston such as energy, health care, biomedical research & aerospace.

All genders are invited to attend WiDS regional events, which features outstanding women doing outstanding work.


Co-location with 2020 RICE Data science conference:


WiDS Houston 2020 will be co-located with the 4th Ken Kennedy Institute Data Science Conference, which will be held virtually on October 26-28, 2020. 

This conference, hosted annually by Rice University, is for professionals and practitioners working in machine learning, deep learning, data mining, artificial intelligence, or big data problems broadly. The conference is a research, development, and innovation (RD&I) gathering, bringing together university and research labs (technology developers), key industry verticals (technology consumers), and IT industry (technology providers) that are looking at opportunities created by advances in AI, data analytics, machine learning and deep learning.
WiDS Houston 2020 registrants will receive a 20% discount off the Ken Kennedy Institute Data Science Conference registration.
