In order to achieve this, Klaveness’ first step was to enhance the visibility of all the sensor data collected on board. This task required industry collaboration, standardization and fast piloting of use-cases and new technology.
DNV GL has a long history working with Klaveness on classification and solving complex industry problems. Veracity, DNV GL’s data platform, is designed to facilitate secure collaboration and cut the cost of business innovation and digital transformation. Arundo, a leader in software for industrial analytics, enables a variety of shipboard and shoreside business applications. Arundo is a validated services provider on Veracity. This partnership was key to Klaveness’ choice.
In the collaboration’s first phase, Klaveness deployed Arundo Edge Agent. This technology enables intelligent, secure streaming to the Veracity platform. The data is used to generate standard digital twin models which are used to compare data across ships and fleets. Arundo adds context to the data through a custom application for both onboard and onshore staff. Klaveness was searching for more advanced analytical decisions support onboard its vessels, to help its crews make better decisions.
The seamless Arundo/Veracity integration also helps managers onshore stay updated and support the vessels. This collaboration helps Klaveness drive their digital transformation, by identifying real value in use cases and scaling the solutions across their fleet.
